Here's something I haven't said

I was all worried because I have a lot of posts yet to do for class and I couldn't think of anything to write about. Then I realized. Here's something I haven't said yet: I live in Alaska. I can make a ton of posts about that.

This post will be about the summer of '08.

My father works for ExxonMobil and decided it would be interesting to transfer to Anchorage for a few years. It was a cool prospect but they wanted me to go to college up there and I did not want to go to college in Alaska. Anyway, we worked it out so that I went to school down here and spent breaks in Alaska. ExxonMobil has a plan that allows two round trip flights per year that are paid for by the company, which is quite a good deal seeing as tickets are usually more than a thousand dollars.
The plane ride was not terribly enjoyable. 8 hours in a plane takes a toll on you. But I survived the journey and made it to our new house, after a few weeks in a hotel. About three weeks after we got there, our stuff showed up in the moving van. Unloading revealed a devilish surprise. Most of our furniture was damaged, including antiques that were almost entirely splinters. My mom was understandably upset and I got the job of taking a billion photographs of the damage. Most of the summer was spent unpacking, but I did get a chance to climb some mountains. One of these was Hope point. This was incredibly difficult because of the steep slope. Going up was exhausting and going down was dangerous. I fell quite a few times on the way down, the gravel sliding under my feet.
